Studies) (NASDAQ: TKLC - News) and market leader in hosted Internet protocol (IP) telephony solutions, today announced One Connect IP, a New Mexico-based local IP service provider, has deployed its application server to support direct and wholesale hosted voice over IP (VoIP) services throughout the state. One Connect has plans to expand its coverage area to include the Rocky mountain area and portions of California and Texas. The solution has been operating live in the carrier's network since September 2004.
Deploying Tekelec's market-leading application server has enabled One Connect IP to deliver robust, next-generation telephony features, including unified messaging, user-scheduled conferencing, click-to-dial and Web-based user control over services such as find me/follow me. VocalData's browser-based Web Portal raises brand awareness and increases customer ease-of-use through visual voicemail and integration of directories and calendars with telephony features.
With support for more than 200 calls per second and up to 100,000 lines per implementation on one server pair, the application server is a highly attractive wholesale offering to Internet service providers as they add new retail VoIP partners. In addition, it delivers a cost-effective, carrier-class solution allowing One Connect IP to meet wholesale partners' fast-paced and fluctuating customer base.
