Little Switzerland Selects iCommunicate

Luxury item retailer now provides global online support

ALEXANDRIA, VA – December 12, 2000 – iCommunicate™ announces that Little Switzerland, a premier retailer of luxury items, has selected the iCommunicate.NET™ customer service and support suite for its online counterpart, http://www.littleswitzerland.com.

Little Switzerland anticipates setting a new standard for online luxury item retailing. By adding iCommunicate to its distinctive website, Little Switzerland plans to introduce to online retailing a “bricks and mortar” class of customer service akin to that which is expected in exclusive jewelry and gift boutiques. According to industry expert John Bagley, founder of Global Jewelry, success in the $43 billion jewelry industry requires a personal touch by salespeople adept at developing relationships with customers, who may be contemplating purchase decisions in the thousands of dollars.

Little Switzerland chose iCommunicate.NET to complement these intense efforts at relationship-building. With the iCommunicate.NET subscription-based customer service suite, Little Switzerland has the ability to engage in live chat with customers who want personalized, professional advice and help as they make their purchasing decision.
In addition, Little Switzerland will take advantage of iCommunicate.NET’s case management feature, which provides a complete history of all customer interactions. This allows salespeople to quickly reference a customer’s tastes and shopping patterns in order to provide a heightened degree of intimacy in future interactions—effectively recreating online the exceptional service expected with the purchase of luxury goods.

"iCommunicate is pleased to collaborate with Little Switzerland to provide the same distinctive level of customer service that, by necessity, accompanies the purchase of luxury goods,” said iCommunicate CEO Louis Ravenet. "This partnership will showcase the ability of iCommunicate to enrich interpersonal relationships between vendors and clients."
Little Switzerland currently operates 20 retail stores on six Caribbean islands and in Alaska.
