Great Plains Expands Its ASP Solution OfferingFargo, ND, October 26, 1999 - Great Plains (Nasdaq: GPSI) today announced that it is working with Microsoft Corporation and Cisco Systems Inc. to provide application service providers (ASPs) with an end-to-end solution for deploying outsourced applications and services. The collaboration enables ASPs to offer additional value-added services that differentiate their solutions in the market. Microsoft and Cisco chose Great Plains because of its strong position in the market and role as one of the leaders in the ASP industry. Great Plains will deliver the additional services, including business management, corporate purchasing and customer/relationship management, through its participating ASP partners: Digex, FutureLink and The Taylor Group."This collaboration is further evidence of our commitment to the Microsoft platform and our success with running our solutions in a thin client environment," said Jim Traynor, general manager, Great Plains ASP Services. "It's a validation both of Great Plains' ASP strategy and the ASP marketplace." ASPs help customers focus on their core business, rather than managing their application servers. An ASP solution allows customers to outsource the deployment, operations and maintenance of the Great Plains eEnterprise business management system, IT support and server management. In addition to Digex, FutureLink and The Taylor Group, IBM Global Services and TeleComputing are certified by Great Plains to work with its value added reseller (VAR) partner channel to deliver solutions to customers. Pricing and Availability Great Plains' certified-ASP solutions are available today in North America and may be acquired through the Great Plains VAR channel either on a purchase basis or on a monthly subscription basis.
