Mizuho Securities USA Inc. Chooses Eyretel for Voice and Data IP Telephony Recording on its New York City Trading Floor

Eyretel’s MediaStoreIP recording software meets compliance requirements and allows Mizuho to realize cost savings over traditional voice and data networks

Calverton, MD, July 16, 2002 – Eyretel Inc., a global provider of voice and data recording, quality monitoring and analysis systems for customer contact environments, today announced that Mizuho Securities USA Inc. will install Eyretel’s MediaStoreIP recording system for their Equity Division’s  New York office to record customer trading phone interactions.  The Eyretel system will be integrated with Mizuho’s Cisco IP Telephony voice and data network  in order to meet the regulatory compliance requirement to record all trading calls.

Mizuho, a subsidiary of Tokyo-based Mizuho Securities Co., Ltd., offers a full lineup of equity-based services for institutional investors including Japanese and American stocks and convertible bonds, as well as other products and services through its Futures and Fixed Income Divisions.

By adopting an Internet Protocol (IP) Telephony system, rather than a traditional circuit-switched telephone system, Mizuho expects to be able to realize efficiencies and financial benefits by eliminating the cost and complexity of duplicated voice and data networks within their  trading floor.

“We made the decision to use IP Telephony for our voice and data network and we needed recording software that would integrate quickly and easily with our existing infrastructure, as well as provide 100 percent recording for compliance requirements,” said Sandy Kapoor, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for Mizuho’s Equity Division.

MediaStoreIP is digital recording software which captures, stores, retrieves, and replays customer interactions made over an IP Telephony network.  Introduced in early 2001, MediaStoreIP is the first scalable recording system for IP Telephony voice and data.  The MediaStoreIP system is also fully compatible with Eyretel’s suite of quality monitoring and analysis applications, allowing managers to use the same applications to manage both IP Telephony and traditional telephone calls.
