SPRINT AND GOTOMYPC TO PROVIDE HIGH-SPEED REMOTE PC ACCESSRemote Work Application to Drive Significant Residential Broadband AdoptionSANTA BARBARA, Calif., December 4, 2002. Sprint is teaming with Expertcity to provide Sprint FastConnect® DSL (digital subscriber line) customers with fast, easy and secure GoToMyPC remote access to their personal computers – allowing them to work after hours, on weekends and while traveling. GoToMyPC offers Sprint FastConnect DSL subscribers a key productivity tool that significantly complements high-speed Internet access. For a small monthly fee, customers can seamlessly connect to their workplace PCs from any remote location, and if their remote location has DSL access, they can work as rapidly and effortlessly as if they were actually at their offices sitting in front of their PCs. “Our customers are demanding more than just remote email access – they want access to all of their work applications,” said Sean Khurana, director of data marketing at Sprint. GoToMyPC enables customers to see their entire desktops via the Web when and where they want to better manage their time.” GoToMyPC offers Sprint FastConnect DSL customers real-time, hassle-free remote access that is fast and easy to implement and requires no training or support. (Customers who only have access to dial-up service will still have remote access, but at the speed of the dial-up service.) GoToMyPC is highly secure, using AES encryption with 128-bit keys to protect the data stream, file transfers and other input. Additional security features include dual passwords, end-to-end user authentication, host screen blanking and host keyboard and mouse locking. GoToMyPC provides Sprint FastConnect DSL customers with access to their PCs from anywhere in the world, enabling customers to work virtually regardless of time zones and location. “Our partnership with Sprint to offer mobile professionals remote-access to their desktops reinforces the value of telework applications for driving residential broadband adoption," says John Greathouse, CFO and SVP of strategic development at Expertcity, Inc. “We're excited about this partnership and feel confident that Sprint's subscribers will benefit with increased job flexibility and productivity.” Following its May 2001 introduction, GoToMyPC quickly assumed the leadership position in the remote-access category. It is repeatedly rated higher than other remote- access offerings by credible industry organizations, and it has won numerous awards for excellence, including The International Telework Association & Council’s award for Outstanding Innovation in Telework.
