Studies)—an Indianapolis-based developer of on-demand email marketing software solutions—took top honors for the Central Indiana technology sector.
Dorsey co-founded ExactTarget in 2001, and under his leadership the company has grown to over 100 employees serving nearly 2,800 customers nationwide, including The Scotts Company, The Home Depot, General Mills, Churchill Downs and others.
As a result of his contributions, 2004 has been a year of accolades for the company and for Dorsey. Just last month, ExactTarget was named one of Indiana’s top 100 growth companies by the Johnson Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation, a division of Indiana University’s renowned Kelley School of Business. And earlier this year, Dorsey was included on the Indiana Business Journal’s list of ‘Forty under 40,” an annual list of the best business minds in Indianapolis.
“I am honored to have been recognized by Junior Achievement, an organization I greatly regard,” said Scott Dorsey. “I could not be one of the city’s ‘best and brightest’ without the incredible efforts of those around me. The team we have at ExactTarget is made up of the best this country has to offer and I look forward to expanding our reach and continuing to expose the tremendous growth opportunities that exist here in the Heartland.”
The Best and Brightest award is given to 11 professionals from the following business sectors: accounting; banking and financial services; education and nonprofit; government; health and life sciences; law; manufacturing; media; entertainment and sports; real estate; development and construction; retail services; and technology. The winners were carefully selected by a committee of local business leaders from among 110 finalists.
