ExactTarget Edges Out 28 ESPs Evaluated by JupiterResearch

CRM Headline News

INDIANAPOLIS – (August 23, 2004) – ExactTarget (Company Profile, Past Stories, Case Studies) , a developer of on-demand email software solutions with nearly 2,500 customers, today announced that it was ranked “highest in business suitability” in the JupiterResearch E-mail Marketing Buyers Guide, released August 20, 2004. Business suitability is defined with such attributes as number of standard features, quality and satisfaction of reference accounts, deliverability thought leadership, strength of dynamic content, and reputation, among others.

ExactTarget received the ranking “due in part to its proven model of catering to multiple markets,” according to the report, authored by analysts David Daniels, Zachary McGeary and David Schatsky. JupiterResearch evaluated 28 email service providers and assessed 35 email marketing application features, 26 of which are commonly sought features. The report notes, “the application is extremely usable. Ninety-four percent of the 35 features are standard, including a very capable dynamic content tool.”

“A key outlook of the report anticipates that ESPs offering flexible collaborative services—such as those that help optimize email campaigns and mitigate delivery risks through excellent ISP relationships—are those that will flourish in the coming years,” said Chris Baggott, co-founder and chief marketing officer of ExactTarget. “With the industry’s highest deliverability rate, our slate of industry partnerships and a culture of working with customers to meet their needs, we’re on our way to continued record growth.”
