Special Olympics Texas Implements Everdream Outsourced IT Solution

Everdream's comprehensive solution increases productivity and reduces IT expenses

Fremont, Calif. – Sept. 4, 2001 - Everdream™ Corporation, a leading provider of Desktop Life Cycle Management solutions, today announced that it has been chosen by Special Olympics Texas to implement an efficient IT infrastructure for all of its locations.  Everdream will provide hardware, software, office applications and remote data backup for employees, with a service guarantee based on a single point of contact and accountability for all desktop management services.

Everdream's unique 24/7 Solutions Center, secure automated online backup, virus protection, self-healing capabilities, Virtual Desk-Side Assistance, diagnosis and repair, Web-based email, and asset and software management - all utilizing HP desktops and notebook PCs - are only some of the features that Special Olympics Texas employees will take advantage of with the Everdream Desktop Life Cycle Management solution.  In addition, Everdream will provide similar but limited support for Special Olympics Texas existing systems until they are migrated to the complete Everdream platform.

"We are in the business of helping people, not managing technology.  We do not have the time, expertise or resources to keep an on-site full-service IT department,” said Margaret Larsen, President, Special Olympics Texas.  “Everdream will provide support to our 18 area offices, some in remote regions of Texas, where we have had difficulty finding cost-effective and available IT resources.”

Special Olympics is an international program of year-round sports training and athletic competitions for more than one million children and adults with mental retardation.  About 25,000 communities in the United States have Special Olympics programs.  Special Olympics Chapters are established in 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, the Virgin Islands, and American Samoa.  Special Olympics Texas is one of the largest chapters in the world with more than 24,000 athletes participating in the program.  Headquartered in Austin, Special Olympics Texas has 18 area offices across the Lone Star state.

“We are happy to have the opportunity to support Special Olympics Texas as it continues to grow,” said Gary Griffiths, Everdream CEO.  “The value that Special Olympics adds to communities across the nation is self-evident, and Everdream is very pleased to provide a cost effective IT solution for this highly respected organization.”
