E.piphany Expands Into Japan

Successful Industry Veterans Attracted to E.piphany to Lead Japanese Operations

SAN MATEO, Calif., Oct. 19-- E.piphany, Inc., (Nasdaq: EPNY - news), a leading provider of intelligent customer interaction software for the Customer Economy, today announced the opening of business operations in Japan. The Japanese operation will be run by Norikazu Tokusue, chairman of E.piphany Japan, Yoshiki Ikoma, president of E.piphany Japan, and Tony Nemelka, general manager of E.piphany Japan. All three industry veterans have extensive experience in the IT solutions market in Japan, having successfully worked together at PeopleSoft and IBM.

By expanding E.piphany into Japan, E.piphany is addressing the significant demand for next-generation Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions for marketing, sales and service. Working as a team, they will establish a local entity in Japan built on E.piphany's world-class skills and technologies while focusing on meeting the unique needs of Japanese businesses.

Strong Leadership Team

Norikazu Tokusue, Chairman, was formerly the president and a founder of PeopleSoft Japan KK, having joined PeopleSoft in 1996. Before joining PeopleSoft, Mr. Tokusue worked for Price Waterhouse Consultants Co. Ltd. as Director of the Financial Services Industry Business Unit. He also worked for D&B Software as Vice President of the Japan office after an 18-year career at IBM Japan Ltd. He holds a Master's Degree in Computer Science from Stanford University.

Yoshiki Ikoma, President, comes to E.piphany after a long and distinguished sales and marketing career at IBM. Mr. Ikoma held several senior executive level positions within IBM in both Japan and Asia Pacific, most recently as Marketing Executive, Automotive Industry, IBM Asia Pacific, and as Client Executive within the Industrial Sector in IBM Japan. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in supporting the requirements of large Japanese industrial enterprises. Mr. Ikoma is a graduate of Keio University, with a Bachelor of Economics Degree.

Tony Nemelka, General Manager, was formerly Managing Director for PeopleSoft Japan KK, where he was responsible for all facets of PeopleSoft's business in Japan including strategy formulation, marketing, sales, services, business and alliance development, product localization and administration. Prior to joining PeopleSoft, Mr. Nemelka spent 13 years at IBM where, among other things, he had overall responsibility for developing IBM's business with Japanese automobile manufacturers doing business in the United States. He joined IBM as a financial analyst and later held a variety of sales and marketing positions supporting large enterprises in the finance, distribution, and manufacturing industries. Mr. Nemelka holds a Bachelor of Science degree Summa Cum Laude in International Business and Finance from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
