E.piphany E.5 Brings Insight and Action to Wireless Users

E.piphany Adds Comprehensive Support for Wireless Channel to Coordinate And Unify All Inbound and Outbound Customer Interaction in Real Time

SAN MATEO, Calif., Sept. 25 -- E.piphany, Inc. (Nasdaq: EPNY - news), the leading provider of intelligent customer interaction software, today announced that its E.piphany E.5(TM) system has been extended to support wireless devices, bringing another touchpoint by which companies can leverage a single view of each and every customer. Through the use of mobile phones, PDAs, and other wireless devices, E.piphany Wireless Dashboard, E.piphany Real-Time Personalization for Wireless, E.piphany Campaign Management for Wireless and E.piphany Wireless Service Portal will enable executives, managers, partners and customers the ability to access up-to-the-minute information -- anywhere, anytime.

``Many global companies are now required to support wireless devices as an additional channel to serve customers,'' said Roger Siboni, president and CEO of E.piphany. ``E.5 for Wireless extends E.piphany's value proposition to not only provide insight and action, but provide it in an anytime, anyplace fashion. Being the first CRM vendor to bring a blended analytical and operational CRM solution to address wireless compatibility further signifies our thought leadership in CRM and will benefit our current customers and prospects by enabling real-time access to time critical partner, supplier and customer information.''

Launched in July 2000, the E.piphany E.5 system combines analytical and operational CRM capabilities to convert integrated customer insight into actionable information. E.piphany's support for the wireless channel creates another inbound and outbound touchpoint that enables companies to build and maintain strong customer relationships. Access to the E.piphany E.5 via wireless devices leverage capabilities in next-generation CRM to provide three essentials in corporate-wide marketing, sales and service efforts: Remote access to business insight, real-time execution of offers and campaigns, and self-service for customers.

E.piphany Wireless Dashboard (remote access to business insight)

E.piphany Wireless Dashboard allows executives, managers, marketers, and other knowledge workers inside an organization to view critical business information anywhere, anytime. Users can browse information and analytical results or choose to have information automatically pushed to their wireless devices. For example, a traveling marketing vice president presenting at a global sales meeting can use his or her PDA to check the profitability of a major marketing campaign that was executed the day before. At the global sales meeting, he or she can report up-to-date findings before an audience in real time.

E.piphany Real-Time Personalization for Wireless (real-time self-learning offer selection)

E.piphany Real-Time Personalization for Wireless allows customers to receive real-time personalized marketing offers and recommendations displayed via micro-browsers or pushed to wireless phones. Wireless devices can act as an additional channel in a comprehensive, multi-channel marketing campaign spanning the Web, contact centers, e-mail, wireless devices, and other customer touchpoints. For example, a customer who is looking to purchase a new stereo component is notified via a mobile device that his or her favorite Web retailer has just discounted the stereo component by 30 percent.

E.piphany Campaign Management for Wireless (sophisticated campaign execution)

E.piphany Campaign Management for Wireless allows marketers to analyze, plan, and execute permission-based marketing campaigns to extend highly targeted offers to wireless devices as well as other channels. For example, a credit card offer can be targeted for specific customer segments and delivered via PDAs or other devices. Customers can be identified and targeted using rich OLAP and data mining analytics, including profiling, clustering, classification, outlier detection, and other techniques. E.piphany Campaign Management and E.piphany Real-Time Personalization can be deployed together as a fully integrated personalized marketing system or separately as independent modules.

E.piphany Wireless Service Portal (self-service for customers)

E.piphany Wireless Service Portal allows customers to check their individual service information from any WAP-enabled wireless device, as well as PDAs with web browsing capabilities. Customers can check on the status of recent service orders, open cases, and other information, just as they could through a standard Web browser. For example, a customer who wants to check the status of a service request submitted one-week prior, can check the status via his or her wireless device anywhere and at any time of the day.

E.5 for Wireless supports HTML, Wireless Application Protocol (WAP), Wireless Markup Language (WML), Web Clipping Application (WCA), phone.com notifications, and works with wireless phones, PDA devices, and other wireless devices. There will be no incremental pricing for E.piphany's added support of the wireless channel, meaning E.piphany clients will receive the right to use E.piphany's wireless interfaces as part of the user and server licenses that they purchase with the E.piphany E.5 system.
