SAN MATEO, Calif., Sept. 10  -- E.piphany, Inc. (Nasdaq: EPNY - news), a leading provider of next-generation customer relationship management, today announced that Forbes recognized E.piphany as one of the best B2B companies in the CRM space in its annual Best of The Web magazine in the September 10, 2001 issue. E.piphany was also ranked the third most dynamic Internet company in the annual Forbes ASAP Dynamic 100 Listing, following the number one and two most dynamic Internet companies, eBay and AOL/Time Warner. E.piphany is recognized for using the power of Internet technology to redefine the CRM market and is the only CRM vendor to receive the combination of the Best of the Web and The Dynamic 100 awards.

This year's Best of The Web for B2B survey includes more than 150 companies in 31 categories from agriculture to telecommunications. Companies were chosen based on strict criteria related to strategy, execution and financial staying power. Profiles of each company are included in the September 10 issue, as well as vital statistics such as financials and management information. The Dynamic 100 is a list of technology companies ranked by the analysts who cover them. To compile the list, Forbes ASAP created an initial pool of more than 300 companies and then polled hundreds of analysts and asked them to rank each company on the following factors:

    1. Change: How well does the company respond to change?
    2. Opportunity: How big is the potential market for the company's
       products?
    3. Sell: How well does the company respond to its market opportunity?
    4. People: How strong is the company's human capital?
    5. Alliances: How strong are its partners and its relationships?
    6. Ramp: How fast is the company growing, and can it continue to ramp up
       quickly?
    7. Financials: How strong is the company's overall financial health?
