Studies), a leading provider of unified voice, e-mail and web-based communications systems, today announced a strategic alliance with Cortelco Shanghai Telecom Equipment Company in China. eOn will utilize Cortelco Shanghai’s vast experience and technical resources in China to develop localized software applications and customized solutions targeted at the rapidly growing contact center market in China and Asia.
Cortelco Shanghai is a proven telecommunications company with significant customer reach throughout Asia. During their 10+ year tenure in China, they have established strong and enduring business relationships, particularly in the carrier market, with such firms as Shanghai Bell, Shandong Netcom, and Sichuan Telecom. Cortelco Shanghai is a leading provider of telecommunications products in China, including fiber optic transmission equipment, data communications systems, and network management software.

eOn Communications and Cortelco Shanghai have held a long-standing relationship dating back to the early 1990’s, when the two companies jointly designed and developed carrier-class equipment that was distributed throughout Mainland China. Cortelco Systems Holding Corporation and eOn Communications are related parties due to the Director level status and significant shareholder positions held in both entities by David Lee. Cortelco Shanghai’s experienced engineers and service organization will assist eOn Communications in developing products that meet the unique requirements of the China market. The firms will immediately begin to apply resources to several new development projects targeted at specific contact center customers and markets in China. These technical resources will also be used to assist with new product development and technical initiatives for customers in North American.
