IT AND CONTACT CENTER PROS GATHER TO SHARE BEST PRACTICES FOR IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF WEB AND VOICE
APPLICATIONS AT THIRD ANNUAL EMPIRIX PERFORMANCE SUMMIT; OCT. 20-22, 2003 IN BOSTON( email this article)
META Group vice president to present keynote; Registration now open
WALTHAM, Mass. – August 13, 2003 – Empirix Inc. (Company
Profile, Past
Stories, Case
Studies), the leading provider of integrated test and monitoring solutions for Web, voice and network applications, today announced that it will host its third
annual Performance Summit – a gathering for Empirix customers and partners – in Boston October 20-22, 2003 at the Omni Parker House Hotel. The focus of the
conference is how to improve the quality of Web- and voice-based applications. Empirix helps companies use pre-deployment testing and post-deployment monitoring to find
potential problems with an application and then address them before those problems affect a user’s experience.
Last year, dozens of companies including American Airlines and H&R Block took to the podium to share case studies on their use of Empirix products and services to
improve Quality of Experience for their users. Empirix has added hundreds of customers to its client base since then, and expects an even larger representation at its 2003
Summit.
“Quality of Web and voice applications has become a major issue over the past year, as more companies have discovered the cost and quality advantages of self-service for
their customers and employees,” said Empirix CEO Jeff Hotchkiss. “Emerging technology such as Web services, .NET and VXML have made it easier for companies to
open their applications to users, but also create more potential points of failure and increase the risk of downtime – just when companies need quality the most. The Empirix
Performance Summit is a terrific forum for knowledge sharing on this crucial topic.”
Performance Summit attendees can:
- Learn best practices for testing and monitoring applications built using new technologies such as Web services, .NET and VXML
- Network with peers from other companies
- Develop and enhance their technology skills through hands-on workshops
- Spend one-on-one time with Empirix staff for customized advice
- Impact the future direction of Empirix products and services by sharing their latest business challenges and ideas
META Group Vice President Corey Ferengul to present keynote on Expanding the Scope of Service Levels
Corey Ferengul, Vice President, META Group, Inc. – a leading provider of information technology research, advisory services, and strategic consulting – will present a

and finance executives,” said Ferengul. “But in order to do it right, they need to have a clear understanding of which metrics to report on, and the right tools to measure
performance.” Ferengul’s presentation will include new META Group research on this important topic, and offer Performance Summit attendees strategies for implementing
Service-Level Management programs within their companies.
