i2 Signs Agreement to License Delano e-Business Platform and Applications; Delano To Power B2B Interactions on i2 FreightMatrix e-Marketplace

TORONTO-September 18 - Delano Technology Corporation (NASDAQ: DTEC), a leading provider of interaction-based e-business solutions for the enterprise, and i2 Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: ITWO), the leading provider of intelligent e-business and marketplace solutions, today announced that i2 has licensed Delano’s e-business solution as a core interaction and external messaging application layer for i2’s FreightMatrix™ e-marketplace. i2 has also signed an OEM agreement with Delano™, under which i2 can embed Delano’s technology in its various marketplaces and industry-leading solutions.

i2 has identified over 35 different interaction-driven applications that will be implemented using Delano’s e-business platform-the Delano e-Business Interaction Suite™-and Customer Velocity™, an integrated suite of e-marketing and e-service applications built on the Delano platform. The applications will extend the functionality provided by FreightMatrix, an online marketplace that enables the logistics community to buy and sell logistics services, better manage transportation networks and execute the movement of materials around the world. The applications will manage all the interactions that take place around the logistics services provided by FreightMatrix, including order acceptance verification, tender acceptance, and freight matching.

“Delano provides FreightMatrix with the underlying interaction infrastructure to enhance our service offering. i2’s customers will benefit from solutions built on an extensible and robust architecture that extends i2 e-business applications,” said Mark Skoda, president and CEO of FreightMatrix and EVP of i2. “Essentially, Delano is enabling i2 to very quickly deliver one of the most comprehensive transportation and logistics products and services available today, allowing our customers to select one solution to seamlessly manage all their interactions across their supply chain.”

Based on the success of the initial FreightMatrix implementation, i2 will evaluate using Delano’s e-business platform and applications as the underlying interaction architecture for implementing other high-value applications across i2’s other vertical matrices. Under the agreement with Delano, i2 also has the option to license Delano’s e-business platform and applications as a fully integrated piece of i2’s solutions.

“Our relationship with i2 opens the door to many new opportunities for Delano across all of their products and marketplaces. This relationship further validates our solution as a key technology for both e-marketplaces and packaged application solutions, such as i2’s,” said John Foresi, president and CEO of Delano. “We look forward to building a long-term relationship with i2 and delivering integrated solutions that take its B2B marketplaces and applications to new heights.”
