NetOp School v1.5 adds full Windows 2000 SupportWith Windows 2000 support NetOp's "Software for Networked Classrooms" now Supports all Windows Platforms.BOCA RATON, FL - CrossTec Corporation (www.CrossTecCorp.com) has announced that NetOp School v1.5, developed by Danware Data A/S, now supports Windows 2000. Support for Microsoft's latest operating system makes NetOp School the first networked classroom teaching tool to support all Windows environments including Windows 2000, NT, 95/98, 3.1x and even NT Terminal Server. Besides W2k support, the latest build of NetOp School also offers network speed increases, an icon for students to request help from a teacher in NetOp's Stealth (hidden) mode, remote Windows Clipboard sharing, more user friendly help files and more.Designed for teachers and corporate trainers, NetOp School is a powerful combination of seven tools for interactive PC based classroom instruction. NetOp School enables teachers to broadcast their screen to all, several or just one student PC. Teachers can also view student screens as they work, remote control a student's computer for one-on-one instruction, chat with one or several students without disrupting others, launch applications and lessons, call a class to attention or transfer files without floppy disks. Designed to make use of current network investments, NetOp School is a software-only solution that runs on TCP/IP, NetBios or IPX networks. NetOp School's support for Windows 2000 includes the ability to turn off Windows "gimmicks" such as screen savers, backgrounds, and the active desktop thus increasing screen draw speeds. NetOp School also achieves significant speed enhancements by providing both Windows 2000 GDI (Graphical Developer Interface) hooking along with a traditional bitmap draw mode. By taking advantage of Windows GDI hooks, NetOp tells each PC to draw specific items on the local system such as an entire background color or icon instead of having to transfer and draw a screen and subsequent changes bit by bit. NetOp School developers have also added speed enhancements for viewing or showing screens that contain an Internet browser. With NetOp's Internet screen speed increase, teachers can easily watch one or more students as they browse the web. This will help assure teachers that students are not visiting questionable or forbidden sites or pages. Along with added Internet graphic support, NetOp School also has made the use of technical graphic applications such as Autodesk's AutoCad faster to demo or view. NetOp School, which is based on the award-winning NetOp Remote Control, continues to support the motto, "Software that Helps," by now providing all students the option of sending an SOS message to the teacher. This can be done even if the student is in the NetOp Stealth Mode, when the student doesn't have access to the NetOp interface. In Stealth Mode, a student cannot exit from the program or change any of the software's options. However, with the NetOp SOS button, the student can click on a small icon on their system tray and send a quick text message to the teacher without having to raise their hand or feel embarrassed. The teacher will then hear an audio tone and see the student's message. Other improvements in NetOp School include an Autoscroll mode, easier sorting and viewing of student names, and Windows Clipboard sharing. With the Clipboard option, a teacher can copy contents of one system's Windows Clipboard and paste it into the clipboard of another system. This is ideal for helping a student who is having trouble coding a specific spreadsheet or computer language program. By copying the needed code to the remote system, the student can be brought up to the level of the rest of the class. NetOp School, along with NetOp Remote Control, is distributed in North America exclusively by the CrossTec Corporation and their network of over 1,100 resellers. NetOp School is licensed by the classroom, with retail prices starting at $850.
