Courion and CONSUL Team Up to Offer Integrated Identity Management and Security Administration

Integration of Provisioning, Password Management, Audit, Event Management and Administration Solutions To Benefit Joint Customers

FRAMINGHAM, MA. and ACTON, MA. — December 2, 2002 —Courion® Corporation, a leading provider of identity management lifecycle solutions, and CONSUL risk management, a leading IT security software provider specializing in measurement and management solutions for enterprise-wide security, today announced a joint marketing and development partnership to provide an integrated identity management infrastructure tied into a single audit and administration console.

Alerts and actions initiated by Courion’s user provisioning and password management solutions will be automatically consolidated and normalized by CONSUL’s audit and administration solutions, enabling identity management events to be easily reconciled with other security events. The integrated solutions will enable joint customers to compare events to policy, and provide advanced reports and alerts on deviations and thresholds.

“We are pleased to work with CONSUL to offer integrated solutions that combine our industry-leading identity management capabilities with the critical functions of security audit and administration,” said Kurt Johnson, vice president of business development, Courion. “Being able to monitor and reconcile provisioning and password management transactions and policies from a single administrative interface will help our customers further streamline security administration.”

CONSUL and Courion will jointly sell and market Courion's AccountCourier™ user provisioning and PasswordCourier® password management solutions with CONSUL’s Enterprise Audit, and zSecure Pro Suite security management solutions.  The combined products will enable enterprises to track all identity management transactions, including new account creations, account deletions, account changes, orphaned accounts, password resets, and failed authentication for password management and account provisioning transactions from a single console.

“Working with Courion’s family of identity management solutions greatly enhances our customers’ ability to manage their businesses and be instantly aware of security breaches and vulnerabilities,” stated Marc van Zadelhoff, director of business development, CONSUL.  “The lack of overlap in our software solutions and the strong value that integrated identity management and audit brings to end-to-end security administration makes our partnership with Courion a natural fit.”
