FRAMINGHAM, Mass. - August 11, 2003 - Courion (Company
Profile, Past
Stories, Case
Studies) Corporation, a leading provider of self-service identity management solutions, today announced that Standard Register (NYSE:SR), a leading
provider of information solutions which help companies migrate from paper-based to digital processes, has implemented Courion's PasswordCourier® for enterprise
password management to reduce costs and increase security.
With thousands of password reset calls consuming its help desk and pulling IT staff away from more critical projects, Standard Register turned to Courion's self-service
identity management solution to streamline the password reset process. With PasswordCourier in place, Standard Register has streamlined the password reset process
with self-service automation, saving the company thousands of dollars each month while helping ensure security. Through the system, associates are presented with
multiple challenge/response questions to validate their identity before a password can be changed.
Today, more than 60 percent of the password resets across Standard Register's Windows NT and Top Secret platforms and over 66 percent for the mainframe have been
automated with PasswordCourier, an improvement of more than 50 percent from initial adoption rates. Standard Register associates are able to securely reset and
synchronize their passwords via the Web or phone using PasswordCourier.
Tara Clemons, senior systems analyst, Standard Register, said, "We gained valuable insight on best practices from Courion. With its Self-Service Attainment
Program, we redesigned our workflow to make the password reset process easy and fast for associates. Utilizing Courion's results acceleration toolkit, we embarked on an
internal marketing campaign to drive user adoption. The strength of Courion's self-service password management technology, combined with their understanding of the
business processes needed to support it, has enabled us to successfully reduce costs while enhancing our associates' experience."
Courion's Self-Service Attainment Program helps customers achieve the highest possible user adoption rates in order to maximize their return on investment in its self-
service identity management solutions. Through the service, Courion works with customers through the discovery, planning, prototype, configuration, pilot and deployment
phases to maximize ROI.
Courion then helps develop internal marketing campaigns to build awareness of the solution and its benefits to end users and to support end user registration and
usage.
"Not everyone is quick to embrace new technology," said David Frogel, director of professional services, Courion. "People get used to doing things a certain
way, like calling the help desk when you've forgotten your password. Our results acceleration programs highlight end user benefits to drive user adoption rates so that our
customers achieve maximum value from our solutions."
