Control-F1 announces CF1Live Training: pay per use, web-based, training technology

Calgary, Alberta - September 11, 2000 - Control-F1 announced today, an on-demand, pay per use web training technology - a collaborative solution to give helpdesks the power to train multiple individuals at one time.

CF1Live Training, for any helpdesk scenario, will reduce costs through the effective and efficient use of web technology to provide controlled learning via the Internet.

The new solution is available at $.17 per minute per user. “We designed this product as a direct response to our customers’ requests for a cost effective helpdesk training solution. Control-F1 was initially built for one to one technical support, and because helpdesks are often responsible for user training, this is a logical add-on to the base product,” stated Vinay Gidwaney, Chief Technology Officer for Control-F1. “eSupport is becoming an integral part of any technical support offering. CF1Live Training allows our customers to leverage the Internet to train their clients effectively and efficiently”.

The technology comes in two versions: training through the Internet using CF1Live.com’s web collaboration technology, and the same web-based training with teleconferencing at an additional $.35 per minute per user.

This teleconferencing facility will be provided through Premier Technologies. “This is a logical use of our established, tested voice teleconferencing product line,” said Neil Herie, Director of Sales for Premier Conferencing. “Each customer for CF1Live Training will be assigned a unique teleconferencing phone number and password. This is to make this new service as easy to use as possible.”

The key features of CF1Live Training are: Screen Sharing, Collaborative White Boarding, Live Chat and Teleconferencing. The benefits are: reduced training costs through the use of web technology, technicians and instructors pay to use the solution only when they need it, and the integrated use of multimedia increases information retention.

CF1Live Training is available immediately for Control-F1 customers as an add-on capability.“CF1Live Training is a great example of multiple technologies working together to create a better product, at a reasonable cost,” added Vinay Gidwaney.
