e by Epicor Suite Enables Midmarket Companies to Increase Real-time Visibility Across the Entire Enterprise Value ChainEnhanced Suite Streamlines Operational Efficiencies To Help Improve Customer ProfitabilityANAHEIM, Calif., Nov. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Perspectives 2002 -- Epicor® Software Corporation (Nasdaq: EPIC - News) announced today at its annual global users conference, significant feature enhancements to the latest release of its e by Epicor suite of integrated financials, distribution, customer relationship management, business intelligence and e-commerce applications for midmarket companies. Based on customer feedback, Epicor has implemented core improvements to its eBackOffice Financials and Distribution applications that enable its customers to streamline operational efficiencies while improving the level of service they provide to customers, suppliers and partners. Making Business Run More Efficiently and Effectively The e by Epicor suite of applications delivers financial accounting, distribution, warehouse management, human resources, customer relationship management, enterprise services automation, business intelligence and e-commerce capabilities to midmarket companies at a low total cost of ownership. The enhanced eBackOffice Financials and Distribution applications include key improvements to the general ledger, accounts receivable and accounts payable modules as well as to inventory planning and fulfillment, allowing companies to better streamline their operations. JELD-WEN, one of the world's largest manufacturers of doors, windows, millwork and specialty wood products, has been an Epicor customer since 1997 and a beta partner for Epicor's upcoming eBackOffice 7.3 release. "We've depended on Epicor's financial solutions for the past five years to successfully run our multi-site international business operations, and we're thrilled with the added functionality and enhancements available to us with the new release," said Kevin Palmer, assistant corporate controller of JELD-WEN. Helping Distributors Gain Insight and Visibility Across the Value Chain Pathology Associates Medical Laboratories (PAML), a division of Bourget Health Services, Inc., is a full-service reference laboratory. PAML currently provides a diverse range of testing services to over 100 hospitals located throughout Washington, Idaho, Montana, California, Oregon, Alaska, Wyoming and the Midwest, and has relied on Epicor's enterprise solutions to streamline operations since 1997. "PAML has experienced significant market share growth the last several years, and Epicor's financial and distribution solutions have enabled us to accurately track revenues, expenses, resources and inventory as we've expanded operations," said Ken Leonard, accounts receivable programming manager for PAML. "As a beta site for the new release, Epicor provided us with great support throughout the process, and the experience has positively impacted our relationship. We're especially pleased with the enhancements to the eDistribution applications that ease the flow of operations and streamline processes, which will result in increased efficiency and time savings across our supply chain." Epicor's eDistribution application has been enhanced to further automate the product distribution needs of midmarket companies. New inventory, sales order and purchase order capabilities will enable distributors to streamline interactions with suppliers. When a customer wants to purchase an item that is out of stock, a purchase order will be created directly from the sales order screen in eDistribution, automatically filling in the purchase order with the sales order detail, saving valuable time for the distributor. Epicor eDistribution facilitates tight inventory control with the ability to view the last supplier an item was purchased from within the inventory maintenance window. Additionally, enhancements to ranking and classification of inventory help streamline operations. With the addition of fields to better facilitate the purchasing and sales functions, Epicor eDistribution significantly improves support for customers with enhanced sales order and purchase order processing. And, inventory available-to-promise and quantity price breaks within the sales order window further speed service. Availability The 7.3 Release of Epicor eFinancials and eDistribution applications is currently scheduled to be generally available to customers by December 31, 2002.
