American Institute of Baking Finds Recipe for Success with Business Performance Solution from EpicorEpicor's Platinum ERA integrated front and back office solution selected to improve customer service and drive increased salesIRVINE, Calif., August 24, 1999 Epicor Software Corporation (NASDAQ: EPIC), the largest provider of enterprise business performance software exclusively for midmarket companies, today announced that The American Institute of Baking (AIB) will implement Epicor’s Platinum ERA to improve business performance across several of its programs. Following their implementation of the Platinum ERA financial suite last year, AIB has licensed Platinum ERA Front Office, powered by Clientele, to help streamline its registration process, increase sales of baking-related books, videos and tapes, and increase scheduling effectiveness.AIB provides on campus courses, regional seminars throughout the United States and internationally, and distance learning classes to over 5,000 students. AIB's courses are designed to assist students by offering advanced training for positions in the baking and allied industries. The Institute also sells products such as books, software and videos and provides consulting to help food-related organizations, such as plants and warehouses, comply with regulatory requirements. AIB needed a solution that could integrate all these areas of their organization and turned to Epicor. After installing Epicor's Platinum ERA financial suite last year, AIB again chose Epicor to provide its front office solution, as the integration between front and back offices will provide AIB with a comprehensive view of their organization, enabling them to be more effective and efficient in their business activities. "We were looking for a one-stop shop to handle our accounting needs as well as a solution that would fully integrate with our registration systems," said Gary Skrdlant, Controller for AIB. AIB's previous system was not equipped to handle the various currencies and time zones, resulting in less than optimal performance. By selecting Platinum ERA, AIB has automated all of its accounting functionality, allowing it to seamlessly process international currencies. Platinum ERA Front Office, powered by Clientele, will also be rolled out to enhance AIB's registration process and will be brought to the Web for students to register online. The scheduling and tracking of audits will be funneled through Clientele to improve customer service to AIB's plant and warehouse customers.
