Epicor Launches First-Ever 'Ready Set .NET' Contest to Showcase Innovative XML Web Service Applications

Epicor's Enterprise Solutions Serve as Springboard for Building Web Service Applications for Solving Real-World Business Issues

IRVINE, Calif., Aug. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Epicor® Software Corporation (Nasdaq: EPIC - News), a leading provider of integrated enterprise, eBusiness and collaborative commerce software solutions for midmarket companies, today announced the launch of its first-ever contest to showcase innovative XML-based Web services and applications leveraging existing enterprise solutions from Epicor. "Ready Set .NET" kicks off August 19, 2002, 9:00 A.M. Pacific (US & Canada) Daylight Savings Time and will include entries from Epicor's global base of customers and partners across North America, United Kingdom, Asia, and the South Pacific. Winners, selected on their submissions solving real-world business problems, will be announced at Epicor's annual customer conference, Perspectives 2002 in Anaheim, California, on November 11, 2002.

With a prize package estimated to be over $25,000, the Ready Set .NET contest provides a one-of-a-kind opportunity for Epicor customers and partners to demonstrate the practicality of developing XML Web service solutions by leveraging their existing Epicor applications and Microsoft .NET. An independent panel of judges will evaluate finalists and winners against four key areas including business applicability, demonstration of Web services concepts, technical excellence and originality.
