Blue Pumpkin Appoints William Seawick Chief Marketing Officer

Former Blaze Software and Oracle executive to drive global marketing initiatives for workforce management leader

Sunnyvale, Calif. - December 12, 2000 - Blue Pumpkin Software, the leader in workforce management solutions for customer contact centers, today announced the appointment of William Seawick as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. With more than 19 years of senior management and marketing experience in both the technology and management consulting industries, including positions at Oracle, Sun Microsystems, Apple Computer and Arthur D. Little, Seawick joins Blue Pumpkin's executive management team to lead and expand Blue Pumpkin's global marketing and business development efforts.

Most recently with Blaze Software, a leading worldwide supplier of software for enterprise-scale e-business applications, Seawick served as Vice President of Marketing during the company’s initial public offering and acquisition. Prior to joining Blaze, he was VP of Marketing at Cupertino-based Kanisa, Inc., a leader in knowledge management for e-commerce, web self-service and call centers.

As Senior Director of Marketing for Oracle, Seawick built and managed global marketing for the company's $450 million education business, including strategic development and marketing implementation of Oracle's Learning Architecture. At Sun, he developed and managed the company's worldwide alliance programs for corporate marketing and managed the Sun Interactive marketing group, responsible for channel, business and market development for many products, including Java. At Apple, he helped found the company's Strategic Investment Group.

"The nearly two decades of technology marketing expertise that Bill brings to Blue Pumpkin will be extremely valuable as we work to expand our worldwide presence," said Doron Aspitz, Blue Pumpkin CEO. "His proven track record and executive leadership in building successful global enterprises will help to ensure Blue Pumpkin continues its leadership position in workforce management and also help to lead us into complimentary e-loyalty applications and services."

"It’s clear that CRM and e-business applications have not provided the level of customer satisfaction that corporations are demanding," said Seawick. It is ultimately the empowerment and optimization of the people who drive e-customer relationships that will result in enterprises achieving true customer loyalty.
Blue Pumpkin has a tremendous opportunity to capitalize on its leadership position in the multi-channel contact center space."
