Ranked fifth on the Inc 500 list, Blue Pumpkin showed 10,945% revenue growth for the last five years and has been leading the new business market of workforce optimization. For over 900 customers including many Global 2000 enterprises, Blue Pumpkin solutions improve customer satisfaction and corporate profitability by focusing on a company's most valuable asset: its people. By optimizing workforce-related processes – including strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, time tracking, performance evaluation and more – Blue Pumpkin has helped customers achieve rapid performance and efficiency gains to deliver return-on-investments of 200-800% and greater. "We are honored to receive such an important distinction," said Doron Aspitz, chief executive officer and co-founder of Blue Pumpkin. "Being on the Inc 500 list – let alone being named one of its top five companies – is a testament to our agility and innovation in a difficult economy. We share this prestigious acknowledgment with our investors, customers and partners for their faith in our vision and their strong relationships with us." The 2002 Inc 500 reveals a surprising resiliency among an elite group of companies that continue to show dramatic rates of growth despite the recession. John Kotan, editor of Inc, remarked: "This is the first Inc 500 ranking to reflect the full impact of the recession. Yet these entrepreneurial companies are managing to confound the naysayers and move ahead despite the obstacles. They’re showing that smart strategies can succeed even in the toughest of times." Started in 1982, the Inc 500 ranks the nation’s leading private firms according to sales growth over the previous five years. Former Inc 500 companies that have gone on to become market makers include Microsoft, Oracle, E*Trade, Domino’s Pizza, Patagonia and Timberland. To be eligible for this year’s Inc 500, companies had to be independent and privately held through their fiscal year 2001, have at least $200,000 in sales in the base year of 1997, and their sales had to have exceeded 2000 sales. Holding companies, regulated banks and utilities are not eligible. Inc verifies all information using tax forms and financial statements from certified public accountants and by conducting interviews with company officials.
