Aprimo Establishes Marketing Technology Advisory Board

Marketing Authorities to Steer Continued Development of


INDIANAPOLIS (November 7, 2000) – Aprimo, Incorporated has taken yet another step forward in delivering solutions designed specifically for marketers by establishing a marketing Advisory Board.  The board includes marketing visionaries who will work with Aprimo’s executive management team to continue to develop unique solutions that help marketers manage the business of marketing.

First to be named to the Advisory Board are:
·       Jim Thompson, executive vice president, managing director of Leo Burnett USA and a member of the Board of Directors of Leo Burnett, Inc., a $7 billion worldwide advertising and communications company, and a member of Aprimo’s Board of Directors.  Thompson’s career spans nearly 30 years managing marketing strategies for some of the world’s most recognized brands.  He has advised companies across numerous industry categories, from packaged goods to Internet marketing.  Thompson’s experience is extensive and broad-reaching, having led the planning and execution of campaigns in food, transportation, automotive, appliances, consumer electronics, services and associations, as well as business to business marketing in numerous technology categories.
·       Jim Taylor, Ph.D., director of the Organic Institute, futurist and coauthor of “The Visionary's Handbook: Nine Paradoxes that Will Shape the Future of Your Business,” (HarperCollins, 2000).  Before becoming director of the Organic Institute and providing strategic marketing and business development guidance to companies like Ask Jeeves, I-Village and Cap Gemini, Taylor was chief marketing officer and chairman of Iomega International, a subsidiary of the Iomega Corporation.  Earlier in his career, he was senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Gateway Computers, where he was intimately involved in the development of one of the world’s most successful marketing programs, the Cow-Spot program.  Before joining Gateway he served as executive managing director and general manager at Hill & Knowlton, and partner and worldwide director of marketing at Ernst & Young.  In 1998, Taylor was chosen by The Wall Street Journal as one of America’s leading business futurists.
·       Elliot Schreiber, Ph.D., managing partner and COO of Digital 4Sight, an international e-business think tank, research and consulting company that helps companies develop strategies for the digital economy.  An e-marketplace strategist with a unique and diversified background, Schreiber is recognized for his distinctive approach to management and branding, and has created a variety of innovative programs in the Internet marketing arena.  During his career, Schreiber served as senior vice president, corporate marketing and communications at Nortel Networks, and held senior positions at Bayer Corporation and Du Pont Company.  Having earned a Ph.D. in communications, he served as a university professor before making the transition to corporate marketing management.  
·       Gary Gigot, an independent marketing and business consultant, private investor and part-time managing director of Frazier Technology partners, a Seattle-based venture capital firm.  Prior to teaming with Frazier, Gigot served as head of worldwide marketing and member of the executive committee of Visio Corp, the world's leader in drawing and diagramming products.
Earlier, Gigot served as Microsoft's vice president of marketing and spent 16 years as an advertising executive holding positions with Leo Burnett and Ogilvy and Mather Worldwide.  Gigot’s work at Frazier focuses on fund raising, deal sourcing, business plan evaluation and serving on company boards.  Frazier is an investor in Aprimo and Gigot is its Board representative.  Gigot Brands, a private investment company managing an existing portfolio of some 30 investments, was formed this year and will focus on brand strategy development with these firms.
·       Robert F. Lauterborn, chair professor of advertising at the University of North Carolina School of Journalism and Mass Communication.  Lauterborn’s 30-year career spans all aspects of advertising—account, media, creative and client—and also includes positions in corporate public affairs.  In addition to his professorship, he is a principal with Morgan, Anderson Consulting, a respected management consulting firm to advertisers on agency performance, and has served on the boards of several B2B advertising agencies.  He also has held senior marketing positions at International Paper and General Electric and has served as a consultant to many industry-leading organizations.  Lauterborn has served on the Board of Directors and was vice chairman of the Association of National Advertisers (ANA).  He also acted as chairman of the Business Marketing Association (BMA) and is a co-author of two books, “The New Marketing Paradigm,” and “Integrated Marketing Communications: Pulling It All Together and Making It Work,” now in its sixth printing with translations in Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish.
