New York & Company, Inc. Selects ATG Commerce OnDemand ( email this article)
National Specialty Apparel Chain Selects ATG Commerce OnDemand to Power Online Storefront in a Hosted Environment
CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 6, 2006--ATG (Company
Profile, Past
Stories, Case
Studies) (Art Technology Group, Inc. NASDAQ: ARTG), whose technology powers e-commerce sites and corresponding e-marketing and customer service for the world's most customer-centric enterprises, on premise and on demand, today announced that New York & Company, Inc. (NYSE:NWY - News), has selected ATG Commerce OnDemand to power its online storefront. Using ATG applications such as ATG Commerce and ATG Merchandising in a hosted environment, New York & Company will launch its first commerce site, reaping the benefit of handing the systems operations overhead to ATG. While ATG operates the site systems, New York & Company can concentrate on the additional revenue, customer loyalty, and cost savings ATG solutions will bring. ATG OnDemand offers the ability to create a more personally relevant, compelling and loyalty-building experience for customers - the same benefits customers realize with ATG's licensed solutions.
New York & Company currently sells its proprietary branded fashions through a national network of 500-plus retail stores in 45 states. New York & Company recently acquired the Boston-based JasmineSola specialty chain, which sells upscale, contemporary apparel, accessories, and footwear.
"We've worked hard to build New York & Company into a world class fashion brand, and we continue to strive to be the market leader in the specialty-retail industry," said Bill Voit, Chief Information Officer, New York & Company. "As we looked to build our multi-channel strategy, we understood very quickly that we wanted to maximize our e-commerce presence with minimum overhead. With ATG Commerce OnDemand, we are able to focus on building our online business rather than the technology used to run it. We'll be able to keep our eye on the ball and continue to drive what is important to us - revenue, loyalty, and savings."
ATG Commerce OnDemand provides the features that drive revenue through an e-commerce site, while giving companies such as New York & Company the tools and utilities it needs to make the process as easy and inspiring as possible. It handles all aspects of the shopping process, including presenting products from a flexible catalog, managing the entire ordering and checkout process, and processing the credit card payment to a merchant account.
Further, ATG Commerce OnDemand provides Web-based merchandising tools that allow business professionals to easily manage the catalog, site content, and update schedule. These tools and features include:
* Content management
* Catalog management, product details, and imagery
* Product and SKU bundles
* Fixed and variable promotions
* Cross-sell and up-sell product relationships
* Seasonal catalogs and pricing
* Scheduled content and catalog pushes
* Commerce and Web activity reporting
"ATG is thrilled that yet another national retailer has chosen to implement ATG Commerce in a hosted environment," said Cliff Conneighton, senior vice president of marketing, ATG. "Companies that don't want the overhead associated with running a commerce deployment should not be forced to compromise on breadth and depth of features and functionality, and they should not have to cede control of brand and merchandising efforts."
