Astea International and Telcordia Technologies, Inc. Join Forces to Provide Best in Class Mobile Capabilities

Horsham, PA and Morristown, NJ—August 19, 2002—Astea International (Nasdaq:ATEA) and Telcordia Technologies today announced a VAR agreement whereby Astea Alliance PocketPC will be utilized to provide mobile PDA access to the TelcordiaÔ Force System, a work force management system.  The Astea ( www.astea.com) technology operates untethered to the Telcordia Force System and can help to increase operational efficiencies, quality of service delivery, customer satisfaction and return on investment with the Telcordia Force System.

“The Astea Alliance PocketPC product provides PDA access capabilities that we have envisioned for the Force System,” said Richard Jacowleff, vice president of work force management systems at Telcordia Technologies.  "With the Force System and the Astea Alliance PocketPC product, our customers’ mobile technicians will have tools to help them improve operating costs, service performance and customer satisfaction. Our agreement with Astea is consistent with Telcordia’s commitment to deliver the most functional, comprehensive and cost-efficient OSS (Operational Support System) solutions to the telecommunications industry.”
