ASP Issues New Edition of "Best Web Support Sites"

Developers of online support sites are putting increased emphasis on personalization features and usability improvements, according to a new report on "Best Web Support Sites" published by The Association of Support Professionals (ASP).

The 114-page report profiles the ten winners of the ASP's 1999 "best support sites" competition, and includes screen shots of key site features, essays by site designers, and hands-on advice about performance metrics, project management, promotion, navigation, and other aspects of support site development.

"For virtually every winning company this year, making Web support customer-friendly has become the top priority," notes report editor Jeffrey Tarter. "There's a clear trend toward personalization and audience segmentation, deeper use of clickstream data, better online forums, and greater intelligence in search tools and knowledgebase design."

The report explores Web support sites developed by Iomega, Cisco, Sybase, Microsoft, Intuit, Intel, Symantec, CambridgeSoft, Dell Computer, and Macromedia.

A preview chapter and table of contents for the $90 report may be downloaded in PDF format (240K) from http://www.asponline.com/99sites.pdf
