Computerworld Names Antenna Software One of the Top 100 Emerging Companies for 2002

Awarded for Performance Excellence in Wireless Mobile Service Company Receives Broad Recognition by Industry and Business Media in 2001

New York, NY (December 3, 2001) – Touted among companies that are most capable of succeeding through innovation, Antenna Software, the leading provider of integrated Web and wireless solutions for the mobile service industry, was selected by Computerworld last week as one of the “Top 100 Emerging Companies for 2002.” The award was announced in both of the publication’s online and print editions.

“In selecting the Computerworld Top 100 emerging companies for 2002, the editors and panel members emphasized innovation,” said Maryfran Johnson, editor-in-chief of Computerworld. “These companies are creating products or services that present a new and creative approach to an IT issue, while demonstrating that they have the foundation, vision, and strategy to succeed in the years ahead.”

“Antenna recognizes that building the best solutions for mobile and field service takes innovation, domain expertise, and an intimate understanding of customers’ needs,” said Peter Semmelhack, President & CEO of Antenna Software. “The award validates our vision, and is a real testament to our staff. Antenna is on track to deliver the wireless software that will generate the quickest ROI for our customers.”

To select the Top 100 Emerging Companies, a panel of Computerworld editors and a select group of information technology industry influencers representing senior-level executives who are both providers and users of IT reviewed nominations from for-profit ventures with revenue less than $250 million and founded no earlier than 1996. Of those nominations, a final list of 100 innovators was drawn based on the following criteria:

-       The company and its technology offer demonstrable value to corporate IT operations; the product or service addresses problems or challenges that IT managers face.
-       The company is innovative; the product or service presents a new and creative approach to an IT issue and competes in a relatively new or emerging market; the product or service is viable.
-       The company demonstrates positive signs of an ability to execute its strategy (revenue, revenue growth, funding, and stable management team).

According to Computerworld, organizations ultimately selected as Computerworld Top 100 Emerging Companies for 2002 are those companies that are making significant, innovative contributions to the IT industry and corporate computing and are worth watching in the year ahead.

This award comes on the heels of three other awards garnered by Antenna Software. Earlier this year, Antenna’s second-round funding was named among the top deals of Q1 2001 by Crain’s New York Business. Atnewyork.com elected Antenna Software to its coveted Companies to Watch list, citing Antenna as “one hot player in the business for helping corporate networks integrate wireless and Web-base access for mobile and field workers.” In conjunction with Field Enterprise Solutions Conference & Expo, Field Force Automation awarded Antenna’s product suite, AntennaTools™, the Best Mobile Software Solution for the mobile service industry in 2001.
