Motorola and Antenna Software First to Offer Leading Field Service Management Application On Motorola’s Timeport™P935New Relationship Provides 2-Way Messaging to the Field Service Industry for Wireless On-The-Go CommunicationBoynton Beach, FL (July 30, 2001) – Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) and Antenna Software, Inc., the leading provider of integrated Web and wireless solutions to the mobile and field service industry, announced today that they are working together to deliver Antenna’s Web and wireless field service management solution, AntennaToolsTM, on Motorola’s TimeportTM P935 personal communicator. The relationship is expected to help Motorola extend its reach in the field-service wireless enterprise applications market for the Timeport P935 two-way messaging devices."By combining the power of Motorola’s Timeport P935 with Antenna’s leading field service management application, we are greatly extending the reach of our offering in the field service market," said Miguel Pellon, vice president and general manager, Motorola’s Wireless Messaging Division. "Working together, we will increase field engineers’ productivity, as well as help companies reduce operations cost and generate more revenues through improved efficiency.” Antenna Software and Motorola will jointly promote AntennaTools developed for Motorola’s Timeport P935 to the mobile and field service market. The Timeport P935 operates on secured, high-speed ReFLEX® protocol wireless networks, which have extensive nationwide coverage for wireless data. These networks offer low-cost alternatives to proprietary networks as well as superior in-building penetration. “We chose Motorola’s Timeport P935 as a platform for AntennaTools based on the strength and reliability of Motorola’s wireless products,” said Peter Semmelhack, president and CEO of Antenna Software. “AntennaTools on the Timeport P935 will give field engineers real-time access to service-related information, from customer data to parts availability, even when they are out of range. As a result, customers, service managers, inventory managers and technicians in the field can communicate more efficiently.” Motorola’s Timeport P935 is the device of choice for mobile field service in industries such as hi-tech, manufacturing, medical and other third- party service providers, according to Semmelhack. Technicians like its ruggedness, lightweight and compact size combined with full-featured keypad, user-friendly GUI, and the store-and- forward functionality, which provides confirmed message delivery. The relationship is one of several that Antenna has formed in recent months to enrich its suite of services and expand its product offerings across vertical markets. The company has strategic alliances with Accenture, Nortel Networks and, ClickSoftware,; and marketing alliances with Applied Theory and ArcStream Wireless. Earlier in the year, Antenna closed $17 million in a second round of funding led by Polaris and North Bridge Venture Partners, and Hunt Ventures.
