Mark Barrenechea of Oracle Corporation Keynoter at AFSMI 30th World Conference & Exposition October 15-17, 2000, Opryland, Nashville, Tennessee

Title of Keynote Address: “E-Business or Out of Business!”

Fort Myers, Florida, August 14, 2000--David F. Henault, CEO of AFSM International, the worldwide association for executives, managers, and professionals in the high-technology services and support industry, announced that Mark Barrenechea, senior vice president of CRM Product Development at Oracle Corporation, will be presenting a keynote address at the Association’s 30th World Conference & Exposition. Mr. Barrenechea’s presentation is titled “E-Business or Out of Business!” and will cover how successful organizations must integrate their support business processes with the rest of the company’s e-business operations.

As today’s companies envision and build their e-business strategies around the best way to reach and service their customers, even greater emphasis is being placed on the speed at which flexible and multichannel service solutions can be brought to market. But multichannel solutions and fast implementations alone will not enable companies to succeed in tomorrow’s markets. Mr. Barrenechea says that companies that fail to adopt the e-business imperative will be out of business.

As senior vice president of CRM Product Development, Mr. Barrenechea is responsible for Oracle’s call center, sales, marketing, customer care and service, electronic commerce, and mobile applications. Prior to joining Oracle, he was the vice president of the development division for Scopus Technology, where he developed and defined the front-office suite of applications, including world-class call center and customer care solutions. Those designs and architecture are being used by over 500 Fortune 5000 companies worldwide. Mr. Barrenechea also has led HR/payroll/benefits application development for Tessearact and Ceridian corporations.

In addition, Mr. Barrenechea has authored articles in Fortune, Barron’s, Information Week, and other leading industry trade publications.
