Robert P. LoCascio, a leading Internet entrepreneur, is President and CEO of LivePerson, Inc. (NASDQ:LPSN). LivePerson provides the technology that facilitates real-time sales and customer service for Web sites. LivePerson currently has over 750 customers, including Earthlink, Ford, Intuit, iQVC and Webvan, as well as nearly 100 international customers. LoCascio launched LivePerson in November of 1998 and raised $42MM in private financing from investors such as Dell, Goldman Sachs, Hambrecht & Quist, KKR and NBC. LivePerson completed its initial public offering on April 7th, 2000. Prior to LivePerson, LoCascio was the founder and CEO of IKON. IKON developed a series of public kiosks for college campuses that integrated interactive video features with advertising and commerce capabilities. IKON’s advertising clients included companies such as Citibank and Northwest Airlines. In 1995, LoCascio sold IKON to a leading college marketing firm and started Sybarite Interactive, which developed a real-time chat technology component to serve as a customer service tool. Sybarite built a Web-based community named TOWN for companies such as Xerox and TRW. The inception of the LivePerson product came from the real-time chat technology on TOWN. LivePerson has received distinguished awards such as PC Magazine’s Five Star Award and the CRM Excellence Award from Communications Solutions Magazine. LoCascio has personally received recognition from Silicon Alley Reporter two years in a row: 12 Entrepreneurs to Watch in 1999 and inclusion in the Top 100 Executives list for 2000. He is also a finalist for New York City’s Year 2000 Ernst and Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Award. LoCascio serves on the Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Advisory Board for their Internet Initiatives. LoCascio received a B.B.A from Loyola College in Maryland in 1990. He currently resides in New York City. |
