Kurt Johnson is director of business development at Courion Corporation, the leading provider of secure, self-service user management solutions for e-business. In this role, Kurt leads Courion's strategic partnership and channel efforts, as well as new market development.

Prior to joining Courion, Kurt served as vice president of the Service Management Strategies program at META Group, an industry research organization, where he was the market's foremost authority in help desk, IT service management, system management and IT outsourcing. Kurt is widely recognized as an authority on support automation and self-service operations, process, and technology in vendor and end-user communities, alike.

Earlier, Kurt held consulting and management positions with The Bentley Group, now part of eLoyalty, the world's first and largest eCRM organization, and with International Data Corporation (IDC), a leader in IT market research. He also held financial and product management positions for the software business at Digital Equipment Corporation, the leading worldwide supplier of networked computer systems, software and services.

Kurt is a known industry author, having contributed columns and articles for publications such as Customer Support Management, IT Support News, CIO Magazine and Computerworld. In addition, he has been a frequently quoted expert by The Wall Street Journal, Investor's Business Daily, Business Week, The New York Times and Fortune, among others.

Kurt has served on the advisory boards of the Help Desk Professionals Association, the Help Desk Institute and the Association of Support Professionals. He also held positions on the editorial boards of publications including Customer Support Management and IT Support News.

Kurt earned a bachelor's degree in management from Boston College.
