Char LaBounty is founder and President of LaBounty & Associates, Inc., a service management consulting firm focused on the growing field of customer support services, dedicated to providing quality technology support practices that enhance client’s business initiatives. Char is one of the preeminent experts on the development and application of service level management and service level agreements and writes and speaks extensively on the subject, throughout the world.
Prior to her current position, she was the Director of the Membership Services Division for the Help Desk Institute. Char has over 20 years experience in the support industry as a line practitioner. Char joined the Institute from Disney Worldwide Services where she was head of the Business Services Division. In her position with Disney, she dramatically re-engineered and managed the Worldwide Help Desk/Customer Support facility, and managed other operations and customer liaison functions.
As Vice President of the Customer Relations Group for Norwest Corporation, Char was responsible for establishing their two Help Desks, as well as managed all disciplines associated with customer training, implementation, marketing, support, and Corporate acquisitions.
Char has authored several books and published industry research on Outsourcing. She has published articles in Fortune magazine, and is frequently quoted in IT Support News, Computerworld, Customer Support Management, and PC Week. She is on the Advisory Boards of HDI and SoftBank’s Support Service Events, and sits on the Editorial Board of United Publications IT Support News. Char is a regular speaker at computing and support events around the world, and has dedicated her career to providing sound customer service practices.
