Job Description: Sr. Oracle DBA Job Responsibilities: Reporting to the Manager of Data Management in this very senior level position, you will work with a group of Oracle DBAs, Developers, Unix System Administrators and NT Administrators in a fast-paced and demanding environment. This position includes configuring and managing installations of Oracle servers, optimizing the performance of the servers, implementing database configurations for customer projects, advising development teams on best practices related to Oracle databases, and supporting and implementing Oracle installations for development, hosting, regular system upgrades and user training. Will interact with Technical Support Groups of software and hardware vendors for bugs and system failures. You will work with the internal corporate database/application environments, devising and implementing backup and recovery strategy, implementing database and monitoring systems maintenance. In addition, you will work with other groups within E-Business Services to resolve internal infrastructure issues pertaining to database configurations, installation, tuning/coordinating with other Oracle, SQL Server DBAs and Application developers to implement various projects owned by the Data Management Group that also includes a CRM Application. Required Skills: B.S. degree in Computer Science or related field and 8+ years' experience is required. Must have strong organizational and professional communication skills and be able to conduct business in a multi-cultural environment and with clients. Must be able work with very little or no direction. Should be familiar with the latest advances in the field of database management (including other databases like DB2, SQL Server) and must continue to stay informed about developments in the database world. Should have very strong UNIX and NT skills also.
