eSoftware Support Engineer
Hiring Entity: Siebel Systems Inc.
Location: Burlington, MA - USA
Job Description:  Position Summary: Provide exceptional technical support to software professionals implementing and administering Siebel Applications, and contribute to continuous product and service improvement through product and documentation review, process improvement and internal systems design, configuration and implementation. Specific Requirements/Responsibilities include:
  • Responding to complex or involved customer requests
  • Researching issues
  • Reproducing reported behavior
  • Working with other members within Technical Support to ensure complete and timely resolution of customer questions and issues, and to complete any necessary follow-up on resolution.
  • Contribute to key organizations within the company.

Work on specific project assignments, which may include such things as process/tools improvement, maintenance of the Technical Support website, development of an internal website, etc. Skill Sets:
  • Database experience (DB2, Oracle, Sybase, Informix, MS SQL Server)
  • Hands on experience with HTML, Java-Script
  • Experience in supporting client/server applications
  • Experience with Visual Basic/Object Oriented programming/OLE Automation
  • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows95, Windows NT, UNIX)
  • Experience with browser technologies (products, plug-ins) on different platforms
  • CGI, MS-IIS knowledge or experience
  • OLAP / Data Warehousing / Datamart design and/or support experience Candidates must possess the following Qualifications:
  • 3+ years previous software support experience
  • Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Computer Science
  • Strong customer service skills and an eagerness to excel and be part of a dynamic fast growing team
  • Superb trouble-shooting skills and tenacity in problem solving
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly
  • Excellent organizational skills
